New Delhi: E-commerce company Amazon India will organize its annual sales event ‘Prime Day’ on July 23-24. New users will be able to access it after paying around 50 percent more subscription fees than last year’s event. The company increased the ‘prime membership’ fee from Rs 999 to Rs 1,499 per year around Diwali last year.
Akshay Shahi, Director, Amazon India, told PTI, “Based on the quantum of investment in delivery, purchases, and other benefits, we feel that the value for the program at this point is reasonable.”
Monthly ‘Prime Membership’ has increased to Rs 179 from Rs 129 earlier. The ‘Prime Membership’ membership gives users a discount on the delivery charges. Also access to Amazon’s entertainment platform Prime Video and Amazon Music.
